ABOUT OUR CROPS

Early Spring Crops for 2008, included several field grown special varieties of narcissus,  tulips, and greenhouse-grown  ranunculus, fressia, and sweet pea.   We cut field grown dutch iris, larkspur, nigilia and agrostemma in late April and May .   Currently we are cutting larkspur, ammi majus (Queen Anne’s lace),  snapdragons, foxtail lilies, sunflowers, bachelor’s buttons (blue, pink, carmine, and white), yarrow,  lavender, and zinnias.  The Oriental lilies, gladiolus, strawflowers, and statice will be ready to start picking soon.

ABOUT OUR FARM

The Duchess of Gloucester Flowers is located in Gloucester County, Virginia.  We grow our crops at our North River Farm, a small, five acre retreat on the North River off of Route 14.

We believe in the value of small scale farming and support other small scale farming efforts.   By local, go green!!! 

Although we are not certified organic, we employ earth-friendly farming methods.

ABOUT US

Duchess of Gloucester Flowers is currently in our third season of flower farming.   We are members of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers,  a national network of like-minded flower farmers!    In addition, we are connected to the Middle Peninsula Business Development Partnership  located in Saluda, Virginia for assistance in the development of the business aspects of farming. 

Marion Baker is the owner and grower. She will be happy to help you select  your flowers when you buy directly from us at The Williamsburg Farmer’s Market.
